There is (are) と命令文

There is ～　→　「・・・に～がある（いる）」

There is a cup on the table.
(テーブルの上にカップが１つあります）

（場所）に～がある（いる）は　There is (またはare) + 主語　＋　場所

Is there ～　？　「--に～がありますか？」

Are there any children in the room ?
(部屋の中に子供が何人かいますか？）

There isn't a cat under the table.
(テーブルの下にねこはいません）

否定文は　There is not(isn't) / There are not(aren't)
not any ～　「少しも～ない」　　 There aren't any flowers in this garden. (この庭には花が１本もありません）
過去の文は　 There was not(wasn't) ～ /There werenot(weren't) There wasn't any water in the river. (川には水が少しもありませんでした）

書き換え　There is (are) ～　⇔　・・have(has) ～

There are six rooms in his house.
⇔　His house has six rooms.
( 彼の家には　５つの部屋があります。）

一般動詞の命令文　　「～しなさい」

Look at that picture , Takashi.
(たかし、あの絵をみてください）

Please が文頭なら　コンマは不要
please が文尾なら　コンマが必要　

Please open the door.
Open the door, please.
戸を開けてください。

be 動詞の命令文　→　「～であれ、～な状態でいなさい、～になりなさい」

Be kind to old people.
(老人には親切にしなさい）

be動詞の命令文は　原形のbeを使って　Be ～　と始める

Be + 形容詞～	Be quiet. (静かにしなさい）
Be (a / an )＋名詞	Be a good boy.(良い子になりなさい　　良い子であれ）

ていねいに言うときには　please を文頭か文尾につける
Please be careful = Be careful , please .

Don't ～　（～は原形動詞）　「～してはいけません」

Don't play baseball in the park.
(公園内で野球をしてはいけません）

Let's ～　→　「～　しましょう」

Let's go to the movies this afternoon. (今日の午後映画にいきましょう）
Yes, let's. (ええ　いきましょう）

「～しましょう」と誘うときには　「Let's + 動詞の原形　～」
答え方　　応じるときには　Yes,let's または　Allright あるいは　単に　O.K
Let's ～　は　Shall we ～？　に書き換えられる　　（ただし、Let's の文にはweにあたる主語が入っていないが、Let's というときには　ほとんどの場合、話者の私と話している相手の２人　＝　we を前提としていると考えられるからです）

Let's play soccer. = Shall we play soccer?
　　(サッカーをしましょう！）
